Working towards self-sufficiency

Our gardens follow biodynamic permaculture principles, providing a hugely varied array of salad vegetables, eaten everyday by both family and volunteers, as well as many fruits, herbs and medicinal plants.

The main farm is about a 45 minute walk away and covers a total of 12 hectares; three of which make up the cacao orchard of around 3500 trees. We also grow a wide range of fruits, vegetables and tropical hardwoods, such as avocados, squash, beans, bananas, plantains, oranges, lemons, starfruit, jackfruit, cashews, teak, tropical cedar, melina, cristoba, guanacaste, all primarily for our own use.
